WoW The War Within: Fury Warrior DPS Guide

Fury Warrior DPS Guide

This rotation requires more actions to take per minute compared to the basic combo. Once you have a deeper understanding of the Fury Warrior skillset, it’s time to make the most of your damage rotation fully.

  • Cast Recklessness on cooldown or whenever burst damage is needed.
  • Cast Ravager as soon as the target is well positioned and not expected to move.
  • Cast Thunderous Roar while Enraged.
  • Cast Odyn's Fury while Enraged. With the Season 3 set bonus, it should always be used before Avatar.

Tips on Improving as a Fury Warrior

  • Try to reduce the downtime you have when DPSing. While most classes should do this, it is especially vital for Fury Warriors since they will be using auto attacks to gain Rage. Any time spent off target is lost damage, with no way to recoup lost resources, unlike most mana-consuming classes, which will continue regenerating their resource regardless of spell consumption. Due to the variety of mobility options that the Warrior class has, it is possible to play around with boss mechanics and minimize downtime by closing the gap. Suppose the boss is casting an area effect that requires players to run a certain distance away. In that case, a Warrior can play a little greedy for damage until the last few seconds, Heroic Leap away, and immediately Charge back after the mechanic has resolved.
  • For a class that primarily uses Haste, make sure you are casting as many abilities in between the global cooldown as possible, as it is essential to maximizing Fury Warrior’s damage. Even when only an auto attack away from being able to use Rampage, you can always add any OGCD skill to fill in the brief cooldown timer.
  • Rage is a rapidly generating resource, especially when you are using even half of your rotation. Because of this, you will oftentimes reach the Rage cap quicker than you would expect. Rage that is not consumed is a loss of DPS, as you could always spend that unused resource to maintain your DPS on targets. Whenever you have Rage-generating buffs like Recklessness, always make sure that you spend it on skills such as Rampage.
  • If ever need to find out the average DPS you can do with your current gear, try to sim your current character. Since Warriors intrinsically are heavily reliant on gear, simming your character will help you get an understanding whether or not you can meet certain DPS checks with your current gear. Addons like Raidbots are extremely helpful in simming on the fly.
