Brute Bomber is your third competitor in the Arcadion Light-heavyweight raid tier and can be a doozy to fight since there will be less AoE markers for the entirety of his fight compared to the Normal tier. This guide will discuss each mechanic and how you and your party can resolve all of them easily.

Before discussing Brute Bomber’s mechanics, it’s important to note that the entire party should take compass positions around the boss, as many of his attacks are best resolved with this positioning. Ideally, the main and off tank should occupy the North and South positions, healers take the East and West positions and the DPS to the corners.

Brutal Impact/Knuckle Sandwich

As soon as the fight starts, Brutal Bomber will start off with Brutal Impact, a raid-wide damage attack that strikes 4 times, so make sure that tanks pop a defensive, healers provide shields and healing while DPS use Feint on the boss to minimize damage as needed. After Brutal Impact, he’ll target the main tank with Knuckle Sandwich, a 4-hit AoE tankbuster that can be split with the off-tank to reduce damage.

Quadruple Lariat/Octuple Lariat

Coming right after the first Knuckle Sandwich, the boss will randomly pick either Quadruple Lariat or Octuple Lariat. Either way, make sure that you keep an eye on its cast bar so you can react accordingly. While the boss charges this attack, make sure to watch his hands while he’s casting. If his hands are glowing, he’ll start with a donut AoE, which requires you to stay close to the boss. If his hands aren't glowing, he’ll instead make a point-blank AoE first before following up with his attack. (For the first portion of his fight, he’ll always start with the point-blank AoE.

If the boss casts Quadruple Lariat, he’ll make a stackable cleave AoE that targets all tanks and healers. When this occurs, players must split into pairs, with each support having a DPS partner to split the damage. Be mindful of the smaller AoE marker, so make sure each pair is right next to each other.

For Octuple Lariat, he will target every player with a cleave AoE. For this mechanic, players must scatter and take their assigned compass positions to avoid AoE overlap with other players.

Quadraboom Dive/Octoboom Dive

After the Lariat mechanic is resolved, he’ll raise his arms the same way and cast either Quadraboom Dive or Octoboom Dive. Again, before avoiding the main mechanic, watch his hands since this indicates whether or not he does a knockback or a distance-based raid wide attack. If his hands are glowing, it’s a knockback. If his hands aren’t, it's a proximity damage attack.

If the boss casts Quadraboom Dive, he’ll mark all tanks and healers, much like the Quad Lariat. Once again, players must split to support/DPS pairs and split the damage.

If the boss casts Octoboom Dive, he will place AoE markers on all players. Everyone must scatter accordingly, with melee players spreading close to the boss while range scatter at a distance.

Barbarous Barrage/Murderous Mist

For Barbarous Barrage, the boss will spawn 6 towers that knock back players inside of them. These must be soaked to avoid taking lethal damage. These towers explode in a certain order, so players must align themselves to a nearby tower so that they can be knocked back into the next tower that will explode. Each tower will indicate the number of players that must stand on them by the number of orbs surrounding them.

For either mechanic, players should first split into parties of 4 and take the middle towers on both sides. Just before the tower explodes, both parties should then be split into pairs by aligning themselves to the tower diagonal to them. Once all the corner towers are occupied, everyone must position themselves so that they get knocked into the center tower.

While in the center tower, Brute Bomber will jump into one of the corners and will begin casting Murderous Mist. Everyone must position themselves to be knocked toward the boss, as his rear is the consistent safe spot for this mechanic.

Doping Draught

After every set of mechanics, the boss will consume a Doping Draught, which signals the next phase of his fight. After consuming a draught, his attacks will be enhanced with more damage and an extra attack on his Brutal Impact/Knuckle Sandwich. This is a good window to deal as much DPS as you can since he won’t attack during the duration of this skill.

Upon consumption, he’ll do the first 3 mechanics again but with the glowing hand mix-up thrown in, so respond accordingly.

Tag Team/Chain Deathmatch/Lariat

Once he finishes his first Doping Draught set of mechanics, he’ll cast Tag Team. This causes 2 clones of the boss to appear on the edges of the arena. Once the clone spawns, each player will be chained to a random clone. No one is able to see each other’s chain, meaning that you’ll have to keep track of your own chained clone for the next mechanic.

After a short delay, he’ll cast Chain Deathmatch, which causes the clones to do the Lariat Combo attack. As a refresher, Lariat Combo is a mechanic where the boss will cleave based on which arm of his is glowing.

Your goal for Chain Deathmatch is to be HIT by the clone you were CHAINED to while avoiding the other clones’ cleave, as this will remove the debuff on you.

After the Chain Deathmatch is resolved, the boss will do another Tag Team but with no chaining involved. This time, everyone will gather on the safe spot, which is always a corner in the arena.

Final Fusedown

Brutal Bomber will scatter two types of bombs for this mechanic. There are Short Fuse bombs and Long Fuse ones. The Short Fuse bombs will explode first while Long Fuse ones explode shortly after. Meanwhile, all players will either have a Short or Long Fuse, after which they will also explode. Support roles will have one type of fuse while DPS players take the other fuse type.

Players with the Short Fuse must stand on the bombs with the Long Fuse as these are safe spots for these players while the Long Fuse players must stand on the bombs with the short fuse. Meanwhile, Long Fuse players must also get ready to scatter to prevent hitting others or causing AoE overlaps.

Fusefield

This mechanic requires some team coordination. When the boss casts Fusefield, three things will occur. First, the boss creates a death zone at the center. Second, players will be inflicted with a debuff called Bombarium. Third, Short and Long fuses will jut out of the boss.

The Bombarium debuff interacts with the fuses on the ground. Based on the timer, players with the debuff must step on the fuse to cleanse themselves. If the timer runs out, they’ll die. If any fuse reaches the center, this will wipe the raid.

Players that start with 25 seconds of the debuff must stand on the Short fuses first. Meanwhile, players with 45 seconds must step on the Long fuse after the Short fuse players have all detonated their debuff.

Whenever a player detonates their debuff, everyone in the raid takes damage and receives a brief magic vulnerability stack. To prevent a wipe, players must carefully space out their detonations so that no one will take any further damage or be killed.

There is a priority list of players that must detonate their debuffs. The order of detonation to follow is:

Main Tank > Off Tank > Healer 1 > Healer 2 > DPS 1 > DPS 2 > DPS 3 > DPS 4

Quadraboom Bombarian Special/Octoboom Bombarian Special

After Fusefield has ended, the boss will drink another Doping Draught and follow up with a sequence of damage mechanics that end in either Quadraboom Dive or Octoboom Dive. This is the sequence that he follows:

  • He’ll start with 5 raid-wide attacks. Mitigate or heal as necessary
  • After the 5th raid-wide, he’ll immediately create a point-blank AoE. Get away as soon as the 5th hit is done.
  • Then, a donut AoE. After the point-blank, get near the boss.
  • He’ll then do a knockback AoE at the center of the arena. Player must split into assigned pairs again and position themselves at the corners of the arena.
  • He’ll then end with either a Quadraboom or Octoboom. For Quadra, pairs must stack, while for Octo, everyone must spread.

Fuses of Fury/Tag Team

This is a combination sequence of the Final Fusedown mechanic with the Tag Team and Chained Deathmatch mechanic. The Fuse mechanic will be in the exact same positions as the first time you’ve done it so dodge these the same way.

As for Tag Team, you’ll be chained to a clone as well as the boss himself. Not only will the clones do the same Lariat Combos as before, but the boss will also cast Murderous Mist. Since you are chained to the boss, you must get hit by the Murderous Mist by standing in front of him, as well as the side of your chained clone.

After that, he’ll do a Quadraboom or Octoboom Dive and end with an 8-hit Brutal Impact with Knuckle Sandwich.

Infernal Spin/Fuse or Foe

The boss will telegraph a spin attack that you must avoid while creating telegraphed AoE markers on the ground. Meanwhile, the entire party will be given the same Long and Short Fuses as before.

Infernal Spin is easier to avoid and will not intersect with the other mechanic, so don’t worry about Fuse or Foe until Infernal Spin ends.

When Infernal Spin ends, everyone must be in their compass positions to spread out the incoming AoEs.

Barbarous Barrage 2

This mechanic functions exactly like the first Barbarous Barrage mechanic, which means resolving it in the same way aslast time. However, the boss will instead use Lariat Combo at the end of this mechanic instead of Murderous Mist. Use the center tower to get knocked back into the side of the arm that isn’t glowing and run to the other safe side.

Enrage

Brute Bomber will take one last Doping Draught, which should signal everyone to output as much DPS as possible since this will start the Ultimate Bombarian Special enrage timer. You still have some leeway after the cast time is up, as he’ll still have to do the full combo first before becoming untargetable to do the instakill move.
