Kurasks are Slayer monsters for which you’ll need Slayer level 70. They are one of the reasons why level 70 Slayer is a goal when training this skill since killing them will give you pretty good profits. One of the minuses of this task is that you have gear restrictions when killing them, but since they are aggressive monsters and one of their locations even allows you to place a cannon to grab their attention and speed up the kills, you can semi-AFK the tasks. They only attack using melee and have a superior Slayer monster version that could bring you even more GP.
Slayer Masters for Kurask
You can get a Kurask task from a variety of Slayer masters, which assign them in different quantities:
- Vannaka 60-120
- Chaeldar 110-170
- Konar 120-170
- Nieve 120-185
- Duradel 130-200
However, while for other monsters, the chance to get a task from all the masters that assign them is pretty equal, if you want to get a Kurask task, you should go to Chaeldar once you hit level 70 since the likelihood of getting one from her is much much higher than from any other Slayer master. You will get fewer Slayer points for completing the task with her, but you’ll put less effort into getting the task you want and the same amount of Slayer XP for completing the task. The other Slayer masters are similarly less likely to assign you a Kurask task, but they will at times.
Kurask Slayer Locations
There are two main locations where you can kill Kurasks: deep inside the Fremennik Slayer cave and inside the Iorwerth Dungeon, which is only accessible from Prifdinas.
Fremmenik Slayer Cave
This is the worst location out of the two to kill Kurasks in. The air is too humid here to use a cannon, and the running distance is quite long. You can shorten the run if you reach level 62 Agility and then at level 81 agility for the second agility shortcut. However, if you have not completed Song of the Elves yet and don’t have access to the other location, or if Konar sent you here, then you could use either the teleport on the Slayer ring to teleport inside the caves right at the entrance, or the fairy ring code AJR to teleport right outside the Fremennik Slayer cave.
Iorwerth Dungeon
This is the best location for killing Kurasks. Not only is it much closer to teleport, but you will also be able to speed up the task by using a cannon and have a chance to receive valuable crystal shards from each kill. To get here, you can either use the teleport on the teleport crystal to Prifddinas or a redirect scroll with a teleport to house tablet and teleport to the house portal in Prifddinas.
Kurask Slayer Safe Spotting Guide
Both dungeons have safespot that you can use if you want to save on prayer pots when using range. For the Fremennik Slayer Cave, you can use the safespot in the room's northwest corner or stay in the corridor to safespot them. Upstairs, in the Slayer-only area, you can safespot them by standing on the east wall behind the small boulders on the ground. In the Iowerth Dungeon, you can safespot them by hiding behind the crystals in the southernmost room.
Best Gear for Slaying Kurask OSRS
Kurasks are only vulnerable to leaf-bladed gear. The only options you have for melee are the leaf-bladed spear, which you can get from a Slayer master, the leaf-bladed sword, which you can get as a drop from turoths and Kurasks themselves, and the leaf-bladed battleaxe, which you can only obtain from Kurasks. You can use broad arrows, broad bolts, or amethyst broad bolts for range. A pretty unpopular option is using the magic dart spell with a Slayer staff. Using any other weapon will result in hitting zeros since any other weapon cannot damage these monsters.
OSRS Best Equipment for Kurask Slayer
Depending on your chosen combat style, you must bring a leaf-bladed weapon with either proselyte armor, best melee strength gear, or best-ranged gear. Bring a cannon and cannonballs if you go to Prifddinas. Having the Bones to Peaches spell unlocked is handy since both locations are remote, and Kurasks drop bones. Alternatively, you could bring some Bones to Peaches tablets. Grab some combat stats boosting pots, and if you plan on not safespotting them, bring prayer pots so you can keep the protection from melee prayer up.
How to Slay Kurasks OSRS
Go to the desired location. Since Kurasks are aggressive creatures, they will automatically attack you. If you go to the Iorwerth dungeon, place down and fire your cannon. Protect from melee to mitigate all the damage, or use a safespot not to get hit. With high defense levels, you can save on prayer pots by using the bones to spell and consume the peaches to restore HP and only keep the prayer up when needed. The fastest way to kill them is with a cannon, and you will also have 2-3 minutes of AFK time before you need to collect the loot, reload the cannon, and restore your prayer. If you choose to safespot them, the task will become more click-intensive, but you will save on consumables.
